man that's an awful long time whew god Kim I sure hope all goes well. I really hope that your going to have someone with you during the time you have to wait.. I've wrote down the surgery time and will be praying for your mother's safe surgery during her surgery. One thing.. I know you won't feel like eating/drinking etc.. from anxiety and worry but make sure to drink plenty of fluids!!! trust me on that one... when hubby was in the hospital I was too worried about him and didn't drink enough and ended up in the doctor's myself with a IV in my arm getting fluids due to dehydration. So make sure to drink plenty... Good luck sweety and we will see you when you get here but don't feel obligated to come if you need to stay with your mom... we can wait till you can let us know. Here's a BIG hug to you (((((((KIM)))))))

smile.gif What Tipsy said. You hang in there, hon. We'll all be sending prayers and well wishes. Let your mom know lots of folks are pulling for her.

Tipsy's right about not letting yourself get down. Even if it's not much, do try to nibble on something, and drink those fluids! When my daugher had surgery on both her eyes, it took quite some time, from early morning til late afternoon. I wouldn't eat or drink, just paced the halls constantly. My dad grabbed me just as I was about halfway to the floor.

{{{{{{{{{{Kim}}}}}}}}}} We'll be here. Just take care of yourself and your mom. smile.gif

My thoughts and prayers are with your mom and your family. I know how scary it must be for all of you. Keep your chin up and stay positive. And always remember we are here if you need a shoulder. Take care and God Bless.

My mom came through just fine! She is in a LOT of pain though. The doctor showed us the x-rays and there is a whole row of screws holding the plate on her leg. It hurt me to look at it.

They did decided to keep her over night, which is a good thing. They had her fairly doped up when we left and the pain was easing a bit.

It was a long long day and I'm going to bed now, but I wanted to let you know how it went.

I appreciate you all very much.

Good night.

We got my mom hom yesterday afternoon. She is still having pain, but at least we know that will get better. My dad is taking very good care of her, and I am going over when I'm not at work and neighbor's and myself are fixing food and taking it over.

She's going to be ok eventually. We're all just glad it's over.

Thank you all for listening, it was a rough couple of days.

My mom is doing pretty well. She can't WAIT to get her walking cast, and I'm happy that she's not pushing it. She knows she can't rush it if she wants to get better.
I'm having Christmas Day at my house, for the first time. I've always wanted to, but Mom had it. She's made it pretty clear, though, that she gets it back next year! LOL
Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers, I'm sure they've been a big part of why things have gone so well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I appreciate all of you.
Merry Christmas,
Kim

That's great to hear your mom's doing so well, Kim. Thank you for letting us know. She (and you) haven't been far away in thoughts and prayers. I personally know how hard that one is, and am so relieved and happy your mom's surgery was successful.

It's also good she's letting you take some off of her. LOL Just keep making her mind ya!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
